Bangor-to-Carmarthen coach service planned for autumn
The Welsh Government says a new daily long-distance coach will link north and south Wales, with stops along the west coast and a journey-time saving of more than an hour.
A new long-distance coach service between Bangor and Carmarthen is planned to launch this autumn, the Welsh Government has announced.
The service is expected to run every day and call at Bangor Rail Station, Caernarfon, Porthmadog Rail Station, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth University, Aberystwyth Bus Station, Aberaeron and Carmarthen Rail Station.
The government says it will cut north-to-south Wales journey times by more than an hour and will complement existing TrawsCymru and Fflecsi services as part of the planned T Network.
It says funding announced in the First Supplementary Budget includes £8 million to extend the £1 bus fare for 5-to-21-year-olds for a further seven months, until 31 March 2027.
Deputy Minister for Transport Mark Hooper said the service is “the first step in improving connectivity between the north and the south of Wales.”
