Blendini Motorsport and Car Chase Heroes establish major South Wales base at Llandow

A former industrial site at Llandow has become a major South Wales base for Blendini Motorsport and the driving-experience company Car Chase Heroes.

Blendini Motorsport relocated from Edwards Business Park in Llantrisant during 2024 after purchasing the former Harris Pye site at Llandow Trading Estate.

The move gave the growing motorsport business access to a substantially larger facility, covering around 135,000 sq ft and including two former aircraft hangars and seven industrial units.

The purchase was supported by a seven-figure loan from the Development Bank of Wales, which announced the investment in February 2024. At the time, the bank said the new site would give Blendini the space needed to expand its vehicle preparation, servicing and experience-day operations.

The larger premises also allow the company to service a wider range of vehicles on site, including HGVs used as part of its transport and logistics operation.

Public records confirm that the relocation was more than simply a change of registered address. A notice published by the Traffic Commissioner for Wales in January 2024 listed a new operating centre for Blendini MS Limited at Llandow Trading Estate, with authorisation for seven vehicles and seven trailers.

Companies House currently lists Blendini MS Limited as an active company, with its registered office at Hangars 5 and 6 on Bona Road, Llandow.

Car Chase Heroes also based at Llandow

The site is also closely connected to Car Chase Heroes, the national driving-experience operator offering customers the opportunity to drive a range of performance cars, classic vehicles and movie-inspired machines.

Car Chase Heroes is not simply an occasional visitor to Llandow. Its website identifies Blendini MS Limited as the company trading under the Car Chase Heroes name and lists an address at Castell Business Park in Llandow.

This means the Vale of Glamorgan is home to both the engineering and race-car preparation side of the operation and the customer-facing driving-experience business.

The relationship between the two businesses is well established. Blendini says it manages more than 30 race cars for customers around the world, alongside more than 20 vehicles used for Car Chase Heroes experience days.

The Development Bank of Wales also described Blendini as operating and maintaining a fleet of more than 30 race cars connected with Car Chase Heroes.

Although the figures appear to describe different parts of the operation and should not be combined into a single fleet total, they demonstrate the scale of the vehicle preparation, maintenance and transport work now being carried out from Llandow.

Room for the business to expand

When the move was announced, Blendini employed around 25 people and provided services including race-car preparation, arrive-and-drive packages, driver coaching and performance road-car servicing.

The company was also reported to be experiencing increased demand for its driving experiences and associated motorsport services.

Those figures relate to the position in 2024, and the company has not publicly confirmed its current staffing level or the number of additional jobs created since the move.

Nevertheless, the relocation represents a significant investment in Llandow and the wider Vale of Glamorgan.

A South Wales motorsport company that began operating from Llantrisant has now secured a much larger permanent base in the area, while the linked Car Chase Heroes brand continues to run its national driving-experience operation from the same locality.

The Development Bank said its financial support helped secure Blendini’s future in Wales while giving the business the facilities it needed to continue expanding across the UK.
