Pontypridd motor-finance claims funder Woodville enters administration

A Pontypridd litigation funder that provided loans to law firms pursuing motor-finance claims has entered administration.

Official insolvency records show Robert Goodhew and Andrew Stoneman of Kroll Advisory were appointed joint administrators of Woodville Consultants on 16 July 2026. The company's registered office and principal trading address are at 5 Gelliwastad Road, Pontypridd.

Woodville's accounts for the period to 26 December 2024 describe the group as a specialist provider of loans to SRA-regulated law firms, with the funding used primarily to pursue litigation claims in the Personal Contract Purchase market. The accounts recorded £261.0m in group debtors, while Woodville's company balance sheet listed total debtors of just under £249m.

The administration is separate from the Financial Conduct Authority's motor-finance commission consumer redress scheme. The scheme was established on 30 March 2026 but is partially suspended while four legal challenges are considered by the Upper Tribunal.

The FCA says lenders are not currently required to calculate or pay redress until the tribunal process concludes. If the scheme is upheld and the judgment is not appealed, the regulator expects payments to begin in 2027.

Consumers can complain directly to their lender without charge. The FCA says people do not need to use a law firm or claims-management company, while those who have already complained do not need to take further action for now.
