RHA calls for UK action on coach skills, planning and accessibility

The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has published Coaching Ahead, a manifesto in which it calls for government action to support the UK coach industry.

The trade body identifies five priorities: skills and workforce development, planning for coaches, decarbonisation and net zero, accessibility, and international competitiveness and border operations.

The RHA says coaches contribute to communities, tourism, education and economic growth, while operators face continuing challenges. Its managing director, Richard Smith, said the manifesto sets out recommendations intended to help the sector grow, invest and serve passengers across the UK.
