Talerddig rail report sets out nine recommendations for industry
The Welsh Government says rail organisations including Transport for Wales and Network Rail should consider nine recommendations from the final investigation report into the 2024 Talerddig collision.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has published its final report into the collision between two passenger trains near Talerddig on 21 October 2024.
A Welsh Government statement says David Tudor Evans died in the incident, while passengers were injured and railway staff were affected.
The report sets out nine recommendations for the railway industry, including Transport for Wales and Network Rail, the Welsh Government says.
Deputy Transport Minister Mark Hooper said he expects the railway industry in Wales to consider the report and recommendations in detail, and take the action needed to help prevent a similar incident.
The statement says the Minister has asked the industry to keep him informed of its actions, and describes such incidents as extremely rare on the rail network.

The final report gives rail organisations a defined set of recommendations to consider. The Welsh Government statement does not set out a timetable for individual actions, but says it expects the industry to work together and keep the Minister informed.
