Torfaen approves £250,000 bus-priority signals for A4043 route
Nation.Cymru reports that the scheme is intended to improve bus reliability between Pontypool and Blaenavon, where peak-time journeys can be slow.
Torfaen Borough Council has approved £250,000 for bus-priority traffic signals on the A4043 between Pontypool and Blaenavon, according to Nation.Cymru.
The publication reports that the system would give approaching buses a green signal to improve journey times and service reliability. It says the route's six-mile journey can take up to an hour at peak times.
Nation.Cymru reports that the funding forms part of a £6.5 million local-growth allocation, and that the wider package remains subject to an agreement involving Torfaen and Rhondda Cynon Taf councils. No source imagery is used.
